Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
It was established in 1930 as the Gorillas game sanctuary and gazzetted as a national park in 1991. Mgahinga is the smallest National park covering less than 34 km2 and it forms part of across-border system of contiguous reserves in Rwanda and the DRC extending over some 430 km2 of the higher Virungas. Despite the fact that it is small, it is the most scenic park in Uganda, offering panoramic views that stretch northward to Bwindi and a southern skyline dominated by the steep volcanic cones of the Virungas, surely one of the most memorable and stirring sights in East Africa. The park protects the Ugandan part of the Virunga Mountains and its three main peaks: Muhavura, Gahinga and Sabiny.
Known to protect over 75 Mammal species, Mgahinga protects lots of golden monkeys, black and white colobus, mountain gorillas, leopards, elephants, giant forest hogs, bushpig, buffaloes, bushbucks, black-fronted duiker and several varieties of rodents, bats and small predators. Strangely, only 115 bird species have been recorded, possibly a reflection of the parks small size but also suggesting that no serious study of its avifauna has ever been undertaken.
The park is best known for gorilla tracking by tourists. Bafflingly enough, no gorillas live permanently within the park, but a fair number moves freely between Uganda and the neighbouring Parc National des Volcans in Rwanda.

The Journey takes you about 540 kms from Kampala to Kisoro and it takes about 8 hours via Kabale. When you reach Kisoro you will drive along a dirt road 14 Km
