Day 1: Kigali
Upon arrival in Kigali, you will be met by our representative at the airport and transferred to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla tracking in Rwanda
On the bamboo and rainforest-covered slopes of the volcanoes are some of the last mountain gorilla’ which was studied in the depth first by George Schaller and, more recently, by Dian Fossey. Early morning departure for the mountain gorilla tracking. After the briefing from the authorities of the park, set off for the gorilla trekking into the rain tropical forest covering the hills surrounding Virunga Volcanoes. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 3: Second gorilla Tracking / Lake Kivu
Today you could do a second gorilla tracking excursion, or do a nature walk in Parc National des Volcans (excellent birding); seek the golden monkeys, visit Dian Fossey’s tomb. In the afternoon, you return to the lodge for lunch and then drive to Lake Kivu arriving for dinner and overnight at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel/Kivu Sun Hotel.
Day 4: Lake Kivu
After breakfast, you will have a morning boat ride on the lake. You will have a chance to see bird species and different water animals on the lake shore. Overnight at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel/ Kivu Sun Hotel
Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kigali Airport for your flight and onward travel arrangements.
