Rwanda Gorillas and golden monkeys (4 Days)


Day 1: Volcanoes National Park - Rwanda Gorillas

An early morning start from Kampala takes you through Mbarara to Kisoro offering sceneries of the beautiful terraced hills, plantations and traditional homesteads. Through Kabale you will cross the Uganda –Rwanda boarder to enter Rwanda and relax at Gorilla Nest lodge/Volcanoes Virunga Lodge/Kinigi Guest House.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Tracking in Rwanda

After an early breakfast and a briefing by a ranger guide, enter the gorilla sanctuary for your adventure.  The beauty of this rain forest is spectacular. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle and endangered giants is an exhilarating experience. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Nest lodge/Volcanoes Virunga Lodge/Kinigi Guest House.

Day 3: Golden Monkeys Tracking / a hike to Dian Fossey’s grave

An early start in this equatorial forest teeming with wildlife yields colonies of the Black and White Colubus and the habituated colonies of Golden Monkeys. After the morning forest safari you will travel to the famous Dian Fossey Research centre and Grave Yard. This is where Dr. Fossey spent the best part of 13 years living at a remote camp high up on the slopes of Bisoke in order to study the gorillas and to habituate them to human contact. Return for overnight at the Mountain Gorillas Nest Lodge/Volcanoes Virunga Lodge/Kinigi Guest House.

Day 4: Kigali City / Transfer to Kampala

You may leave for Kigali or Kampala depending on where your departure flight is. You will go for a city tour in Kigali, to visit the market, a pottery project, handicraft shops, the genocide memorial and Franco-Rwandan cultural centre and many. You will then be transferred to the airport to catch your flight.
