Uganda gorilla safari packages - This a 6-day mountain gorilla safari packages in Bwindi national park including chimpanzee trekking and wildlife safaris in Queen Elizabeth national park and Lake Mburon national park.
Day 1: Kampala – Queen Elizabeth National Park
African Secrets safari guide will pick you from your hotel and drive you on the southbound road connecting to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Have a stop over at the royal drum makers, take photographs at the Equator and then descend to the Queen Elizabeth National Park, keeping an eye out for game. After checking in you will go for an afternoon game drive to Kasenyi Area of the Park. Dinner and overnight at Katara Lodge/Simba safari Camp.
Day 2: Chimp Tracking
After breakfast have an excursion to Kyambura gorge to track chimpanzees. Expect to see other primates including, Black and white Colobus monkeys and other animals like antelopes, hyenas, Lion and many others in the middle of savanna grassland. This gorge is a home of very many bird species. Return to the lodge for lunch and a chance to relax before taking an afternoon boat trip along Kazinga channel. This will give you the opportunity to view wildlife up close: hippo’s huff and spray mere feet away from the boat, buffalo linger in the shallows. The shores of the channel are also home to an array of birds including pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many others. After this wonderful afternoon, a slow drive back to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 3: Queen Elizabeth national park – Bwindi
After breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest passing either via Ishasha, the home of the tree climbing lion, or take the alternative route through cultivated expanses. Overnight at Engagi Lodge/Gorilla Resort/Buhoma community Bandas.
Day 4: Bwindi Mountain Gorillas
Up relatively early for a hearty breakfast. Before 8:00 am report to the ranger station for registration and briefing by one of the rangers; the guides will then take you through the bush pushing your way through the undergrowth, parting thick creepers, to track the gorillas. In the afternoon (if time permits, take a guided walk on the Munyaga River trail, which is an ideal short walk. Here you may see birds and primates from the forest edge or take a guided village walk - see how the Ugandans live. Overnight at Engagi Lodge/Gorilla Resort/Buhoma Community Bandas.
Day 5: Bwindi – Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast you will depart for Lake Mburo National Park. This scenic drive will take you to Mbarara where you will stop for lunch before making the final descent to Lake Mburo National Park. This Park is an extension of the Tanzanian plains with big herds of zebra, impala, eland and other ungulates. Bird viewing opportunities are excellent - for birders, this is one of the best places to find African fin foot, papyrus bush shrike. Overnight at Luxury Mantana Tented camp/Basic Rwonyo Rest Camp.
Day 6: Game drive / transfer to Kampala
After breakfast take a morning game drive. Expect to see Zebras, Impalas, water bark, Topi among others. Enjoy your return journey back to Kampala having your lunch enroute.
