12 DAY ITINERARY FOR DAVIDE

DAY 1 – ENTEBBE – KAMPALA (1.5 HOURS)

Arrive at Entebbe Airport, met by our company representative, if your flight arrives early, you are advised to change money before checking in to the service of Hotel Africana.
The proposed place of overnight here is simple but clean with self contained rooms and comfortable beds.

  1. DAY 2 - MURCHISON FALLS (4-5 HOURS)
  2. Morning pick up from your overnight accommodation in Kampala start 4-5 hour drive to Murchison Falls National Park lunch at Masindi Hotel. Transfer to the magnificent of the falls where you will marvel at the mighty Nile forced into a seven meter crevice to thunder 45 meter’s below in a series of cascades the Nile can be viewed at different points up to the balers summit. Dinner and overnight at Red Chilli Rest Camp
  3. The proposed place of overnight here is simple but clean though not assured of self contained rooms.

DAY 3 – MURCHISON FALLS

  1. After an early morning breakfast, embark on a half-day game drive on the northern banks of the River Nile escorted by a game ranger. Game in this area include; Giraffe, Elephant, Hart Beest, Lion, Uganda kob, Oribi and a variety of Savannah and woodland birds. After lunch, take a Nile cruise for game viewing at close quarters; this is a paradise of the Hippos and Crocodiles. Dinner and overnight at Red Chilli Rest Camp
  2. The proposed place of overnight here is simple but clean though not assured of self contained rooms.

DAY 4 – MURCHISON FALLS THEN TO FORT PORTAL (6-8 HOURS)

Breakfast early then transfer to Fort Portal, this is an area where Semliki and Kibale National parks are found and are easily accessible from Fort Portal.
Arrive this even for dinner and over night stay at Rwenzori View guest House. (This is the best of all the budget accommodation places, I am sure clients will enjoy it’s clean self contained rooms and good service)

Day 5 – FROM FORT PORTAL TO SEMLIKI (2 HOURS)

Have early breakfast; with packed lunch, visit the hot springs in Bwamba forest, the walk offers interesting things to see, abundant bird life and plants, then crown then afternoon with Pygmies at the edge forest. They will perform and sing for you. Lunch today is picnic and packed from the overnight guesthouse and later return for overnight and dinner at Rwenzori view guesthouse

Day 6 – KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

  1. Breakfast early, then start your early morning Chimp trekking expedition together with forest ranger guides, you will search for Chimpanzees, Black and White Colobus monkey, Grey cheeked Mangabay’s. Have lunch and visit Bigodi Sanctuary for birds and many species in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Rwenzori View Guest House

Day 7 – QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK: (3 HOURS)

Morning visit to the crater lakes region as you transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a lunch stop at Kasese. Arrive at Queen Elizabeth in the evening and enter the park with an evening game drive to try out your chances to stop the nocturnal animals. Dinner and Overnight at Institute of Ecology Guest House.(This is a very budget place, too basic with shared toilets and bath rooms, we usually advise our clients who can to upgrade )

Day 8– QUEEN ELIZABETH

At 6:30am, depart for a game drive on the northerly parts of the park along the Kasenyi track. This is the best time for opportunities of viewing the cats in action. Later return for breakfast. Take an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which is a link between the two lakes George and Edward. Look for solitary Buffalo, Hippos and other animals at the edge of the channel as they cool off. Dinner and overnight at at Institute of Ecology Guest House.(This is a very budget place, too basic with shared toilets and bath rooms, we usually advise our clients who can to upgrade )

Day 9 QUEEN – BWINDI NATIONAL PARK (6 HOURS)

After breakfast, you may choose the option of exploring Kyambura Gorge Wildlife Reserve at extra $30.usd per person OR Maramagambo Forest Walk at no extra fee. In Kyambura, drive through grassland area, all of a sudden we come across an amazing gorge of tropical rainforest 100 meters deep. Hike into Kyambura River Gorge for an unforgettable experience trekking chimpanzees, you may see them or not but it's a rewarding experience not only to see the chimpanzees, but also to see the beautiful river valley that houses numerous bird and butterfly species. In Maramagambo, you will walk through the typical Savannah Forest, one of the biggest in Uganda rich in Birds and many other forest Dwellers. You will be introduced to Caves that have become a Habitant and breeding place for Bats which as well attract the Giant Rock Pythons that come to feed on them. You may be so lucky to spot them basking under the sun after feeding.

After any of the two, you will then transfer to Bwindi for the long awaited gorilla trekking, break off for lunch enroute then proceed to Bwindi for dinner and over night stay at Buhoma Community Bandas.(These are basic accommodation which use paraffin lamps, shared pit latrines and showers)

Day 10 – BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

After early breakfast, with your packed lunch drive 30km to the briefing place and be there at 08:00 hours before beginning the trek. Gorilla tracking is unpredictable, so it is difficult to foresee how many hours you will hike. It may take 2-8 hours, and you should be prepared to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas.
For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. The ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with these gentle giants. Later return for dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas.(These are basic accommodation which use paraffin lamps, shared pit latrines and showers)

DAY 11 – BWINDI – KAMPALA (8-9 hours)

Early Breakfast, transfer to Kampala, watch out the rolling hills of Uganda, ‘termed as the little Switzerland of Uganda’, expect to see a beautiful climate with nice vegetation and farms on hills! Lunch at Mbarara and then proceed with a stop at the Ugandan Equator for snaps and shopping out for souvenirs before proceeding to Kampala arriving this evening for dinner and over night stay at
of Hotel Africana.
The proposed place of overnight here is simple but clean with self contained rooms and comfortable beds.

DAY 12- DEPARTURE: CATCH YOUR NEXT FLIGHT BACK HOME AT ENTEBBE

Depending on the time of the flight, shop in the morning and get to know Kampala by visiting places like; Kasubi Tombs the burial place for the Buganda Kings, Uganda Marty’s Shrine, Uganda Museum and then transfer to the airport for the flight back home. You will be dropped off at the Airport by our company representative and seen off.
